HDC is owned and operated by 2 partners, who between them have over 20 years professional experience in the marine and aquarium industry, and many more as hobbyists. Over the years we have developed a passion for living reef tanks. It is this passion that has inspired us to share the wonder and beauty of healthy corals with others. Both of us are fully active inside the reef community and have given multiple talks at conferences all over the United States as well as writing articles for some of the leading Reef and Saltwater related hobbyist magazines. Between us, we bring a great deal of expertise in coral selection and care. We specialize in importing livestock not found in your LFS. These beautiful and rare pieces are displayed on our site and are WYSIWYG, simply that... what you see on the site, and order, is what will be delivered to you, within a few days, well packaged and fully healthy. To do this we have partnered with some of the leading collectors across the world. Many of these collectors have been briefed to select the very best of their live stock to forward to us, to be able to offer you the finest specimens. All collected corals are done so under carefully regulated conditions dictated by the host countries and the CITES restrictions. In addition we have teamed with a number of mariculture facilities that are practicing sustainable and economically viable coral farming, usually at in-shore facilities. Such companies provide much needed income for poor communities as well as relieving the stress of over collecting on coral reefs.
